The Japan Society of Golf Course Architects (JSGCA) was established on June 3, 1993, by a group of golf course architects who are engaged in designing, supervising, remodeling, and guiding the construction of golf courses as their main profession.
The Association consists of "Regular Members" who are golf course design supervisors, surveyors, and instructors, "Supporting Members" who are golf-related corporations, organizations, golf courses, etc., and "Cooperating Members" who are golf industry professionals and individuals such as golf enthusiasts, which were newly established in 2003. The new "Supporting Members" consist of golf-related corporations, organizations, golf courses, etc.
Screening Criteria for Admission of Regular Members
A person who fulfills the following conditions as his/her profession or occupation to conduct research, design supervision, or instruction related to golf course design for compensation at the request of others.
- Generally, a minimum of 7 years of work experience and at least 3 months of design supervision as a principal designer.
- A person who seeks to improve his/her skills as a golf course design supervisor and is recommended by the Board of Directors.
Admission to cooperative membership (general individual members)
The Association promotes the recruitment of "cooperative members" who join as individuals.
We are committed to pursuing true golf with those who love the game, and we hope to lead the game to a healthy sport.
We actively plan opportunities for members to learn and study by holding quarterly golf course design workshops, publishing the bilingual newsletter GCAJournal, and holding various lectures and monthly meetings. With the cooperation of our members, the number of activities by members for members is increasing every year.

If you wish to become a member, please fill out the membership registration form completely and send it to our office. We will proceed with the admission procedure as soon as we receive the registration form.

Cooperating members can participate in the following association matters
- Attendance at the Annual General Meeting. (Attendance at the Annual General Meeting (without voting rights)
- Attendance at workshops and training sessions organized by MISHOP. 3 to 4 times a year, golf course training sessions are held at representative courses designed by predecessors, courses where tournaments are held, and member courses. List of Training Courses Held to Date
- Attendance at lectures organized by the Association, the Golf New Year's Party organized by the Golf Summit Conference, and meetings organized by related organizations.
- Answers to questions and advice on all aspects of golf courses.
- Receipt of golf's only bilingual newsletter (GCAJournal).
- Contribution to the newsletter (GCAJournal).
- Interviews with experts in various fields. (through general meetings, workshops, lectures, etc.)
- Introduction to foreign literature. (Translation consultation is also available.)
- Attendance at overseas tours, international conferences, etc. (Under consideration)
- We will assist you in the creation and maintenance of your website. (Actual cost)
- Issuance of cooperative member membership cards.

If you are a golf-related corporation, group, golf course, or other organization wishing to become a member, please apply as a "Supporting Member".
