18-hole one greening work and layout changes to prevent hazards due to off-site hitting

The Kawama Course was expanded from 18 holes to 27 holes in 1975, 18 years after its opening.
However, even with the purchase of new land, it was not feasible to expand the course to 27 holes and it needed to be renewed, so Mr. Kawada was asked to review the entire 27-hole course and embarked on a project from the placement of holes on the Kawama Course to the renewal of the greens. Starting in 2006, 9 holes were remodeled one season at a time, and the renovation of the 27 holes was completed over a period of 3 years. 9 holes at a time, the course was closed, and the work went smoothly.
The South Course was closed for two months from February 2008 and remodeled with one green and a new layout.

OLDレイアウト

The old #1 par 4 and #2 par 3 were converted to par 5s as the new #1 hole. As a result, the old No. 3 was changed to No. 2, the old No. 4 to No. 3, and the old No. 5 to No. 4.
[Result] Number 1 doubled my interest as the direction of the two hits became important.

The 6th par 5 was split into two holes (5th par 3 and 6th par 4) to prevent hazards and save money, as tee shots often go out of the right field.
[Result] No balls were hit out of bounds on both holes. The new 6th hole had a sloping second shot hitting position, a hole that had never been played on our course.
