Biography
Born in Tokyo on February 20, 1944. After attending Rikkyo Elementary School, Rikkyo Junior High School, and Rikkyo High School, he studied at Ohio State University in the United States. After returning to Japan, he graduated from Rikkyo University and established T&K International Inc. in 1975.
After participating in the Japan Amateur, Japan Open, etc., he has served as a member of various committees of the Japan Golf Association (competitions, rules, international, etc.) since 1980, and has served as a leader and director of the World Amateur, Asian Games, etc. He has also served as a referee for the British Open (1990-2010), U.S. Open (2002-2018), U.S. Senior Open (2005-2017), and Masters (2000, 2002). 2002, 2004, Victory Director for the Bonnarac Trophy Asia-Europe Match.
Director of the Association 1993-, Vice President 2009-2012, President 2013-2023.
In addition to commentating on golf programs such as the Japan Open (1981-1993), Japan Women's Open (1982-1993), U.S. Open (1981-1996), U.S. Women's Open (1985-1996), and Chunichi Crowns (1984-2014), he has written for newspapers and magazines.
He is a member of the "World's 100 Best Courses" selection committee of Golf Digest magazine.
