Opening Date:November 29, 1964

Design:Osamu Ueda Supervision of modification design:Taizo Kawada

In 1966, the 18-hole course was opened. Later, it became a 36-hole course.
Mr. Ueda originally designed the course with one green. However, for turf management reasons, I heard that half of the green was made of Bent and half of it was made of Colai. After several decades, those separate parts were separated into two small greens, and we were having trouble finding the right spot to cut the cup." (Manager Mori) Construction began in 2005, and was done while continuing to operate the 9-hole course.
First, work began on holes 10-13 and 5-9, followed by holes 1-4 and 14-18, and by the following year, all 18 holes were completed.
The main focus was to convert to one green, but also to adapt the golf course to the changes in nature and golfing conditions that time has altered." (Mr. Kawada) The fairway bunkers around 250 yards used to be caught by top professionals, but nowadays, professionals and advanced players can easily go over them. But nowadays, professionals and advanced players easily go over the fairway bunkers. It is hard to avoid the charge of "bullying the weak.
I requested that the fairway bunker be moved about 30 yards ahead.
It is an integration of two small greens, but where should we place the greens, which average 600 m2? We studied old drawings many times to refer to the original design, and furthermore, we took into consideration ventilation and sunlight to determine the location of the greens.
The question is, "Where is the best place to place the green, taking into account east, west, south, north, and west, and taking airflow as a point of consideration? For example, if the hole is facing north, as a rule, you do not want to place it on the right side. The ultraviolet rays in the afternoon before sunset are so intense that the greens become overheated. If you water the greens under such conditions, the roots will swell. (Mr. Kawada)
The greens are larger, giving the impression of a big swell, but there are only four holes with two-tiered greens. It may not seem like much, but Mr. Kawada said, "There are many high level players at this club, and they wanted to make the course more difficult. The course is 7256 yards long, par 72, and the course rating is 74.9. The tournament is only one week away. If they want to make it difficult, they should set up the course for the tournament. You can adjust the width of the fairways, the length of the rough, the speed of the greens, etc."
The most significant change was the original replacement of holes #1 and #18. Originally, No. 1 was a par 4 and No. 18 was a par 5, but Mr. Kawada's philosophy is that the finishing hole should be a strong par 4. He considered this an indispensable element in aiming to host a big event. The new 18th green was able to be wedged between the banks of bleachers surrounding the original 1st tee.
